I had always wanted to paint but felt that I needed guidance. When I joined our art class some five years ago I found it very difficult at first  but Harriet encouraged me and I feel I have succeeded in painting some pictures that have turned out reasonably well.

I have been studying General Art at the Caterham Adult Education Centre for at least seven years and have explored various mediums, including drawing with pencils, pastels, watercolours and  water based oil paints.

I am enjoying my classes and the concentration involved.  I also appreciate the encouragement shown by my enthusiastic teacher, and enjoy the company of a likeminded  group.  I for one would be very disappointed if the classes were discontinued for whatever reason.
