Van Gogh

Another project in our quest to understand why, and how other artists paint and create the way they do.  We started with lots of pictures and drawings, for several weeks we drew a variety of landscapes, some decided that their image would be a combination of lots of pictures and some just created their own landscape.   All artists tried to make the way of linear painting  their own, not a copy of the van Gogh style but a sort of homage to his way of seeing the world.

I think the project was a great success, not all the painting produced are on this site, hopefully some will arrive later .  But the ones you can see are beautiful and wonderfully well painted.  Enjoy looking at them and for those students seeing your own picture, please pat yourself on the back, you all did so very well.

We will have an exhibition at Chequer Mead in East Grinstead in May 2011.

In the end all the hard work, pain and doubt, indecisions and despair is forgotten when you look at the paintings, all artists have the same problem, it is the thing that makes you try and try again , and it works in the end.
